Like any fine-quality surface, your cabinetry should be treated, cleaned and maintained carefully with quality materials.
·DO NOT allow water, chemicals (detergents, ammonia, vinegar, etc.) and hot or acidic food spills to set on your cabinets. ALWAYS immediately wipe up spills as quickly as possible so they won’t damage the wood.
·DO use a soft cloth. DO NOT USE coarse or abrasive cloths or materials as they may dull the finish or leave scratches that cannot be removed.
·DO use soapy water, a mild all-purpose cleaner without ammonia, or an oil soap cleaner made especially for wood components. DO NOT USE ammonia, products that contain ammonia, strong solvent cleaners, mineral spirits, paint thinner or any other harsh cleaning chemicals.
·DO use high quality polish that is especially formulated for fine furniture. DO NOT USE wax or polish that contains silicone. Wax builds up on the surface and causes yellowing; silicones smudge and highlight fingerprints.

What is the difference between marble and granite? |
Marble and granite are stones quarried from the Earth, Granite and marble (a mixture of onyx, limestone, and travertine) are quite different from each other. Granite is formed deep in the earth core mantle at extremely high temperatures, and is a very hard, durable and resistant stone made up of minerals that have crystallized. The marble mixture of onyx, limestone, travertine and marble, begins as sediment plant matter, shells and animal skeletons and silt at the bottom of bodies of water. After millions of years, this becomes solid and turns into stone. Because its main component is calcium, acids such as citrus beverages and vinegar can negatively affect it. |
Why is granite a good choice for kitchen counters? |
The richness of granite materials adds an elegance and style to baths, kitchens and other areas of the home that cannot be duplicated with synthetic materials. Granite is also an ideal choice because it is a very hard stone that is created at very high temperatures deep in the earth, it is highly resistant to scratching, cracking, staining and virtually will not burn. With granite, kitchen activities are no problem. Granite can take a hot pot without the use of a trivet; granite’s polished surface is not subject to scratching by knives, pots and pans, other metal objects or etching by household acids. |
Will my granite look like the sample? |
The samples you see on the computer may not be absolutely correct due to variations in computer systems, monitors and software compression. Marble and granite are natural stones created by the forces of nature. They are composed of various minerals and are susceptible to wide variations in color, texture, spotting, veining and cracking. These variations are expected and are the source of its natural beauty. |
Can granite crack? |
